HACSU is currently negotiating with several other employers for a 3.25% pay increase and it is both notable and commendable that St John of God is only the second organisation to agree to this pay increase. These negotiations form part of the broader Respect in Disability campaign. The lynch pin of this campaign is the Equal Pay Case where we are challenging the wage rates attached to new modern award for Disability Employees on the basis of gender equity. This 3.25% pay increase also comes on the back of the 3.25% pay increase that St John of God employees received from 1 July 2009 with the assistance of HACSU’s negotiations.
HACSU and Your local delegates have also been attending the ‘Well-Being Committee’ meetings on a regular monthly basis and the consultation committee is close to reaching an agreement on a formal Roster Review Policy Document. A trial has been agreed to commence shortly in two CRU’s in the Northern Area.
Please don’t hesitate to contact one of your local delegates or HACSU if you have any queries on 9340 4100 or email your HACSU Organiser, Bernadette Gambin at bernadetteg@hacsu.asn.au.
